Celebrate the Spring with this delightful Ightham Mote and Gardens E bike tour. A countryside scenic route around Sevenoaks Weald Village. Enjoy an almost effortless climb up Bayley’s hill using the pedal assistance, with spectacular views across the Weald Valley.
As you reach Sevenoaks, this route will take you parallel to Knole Deer Park. Home to hundreds of wild Deer for over 500 years. This medieval park was created in 1456 when Archbishop Bourchier first enclosed the area with a fence to make a park for deer hunting. It is the last of its kind in Kent and certainly not used for Hunting anymore!
Continue your ride through a small village named Stone Street towards Ightham and Immerse yourself in Spring at Ightham Mote. Discover the estate at Ightham Mote, lying within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The estate is an ancient landscape, with the farmland carved from the wood that once covered much of the Kentish Weald. Surrounding the house and garden, farmland occupies over two-thirds of the estate, with woodland making up around a third.
This 700-year-old moated manor house is owned by the National Trust.
Marvel at the stunning hand-painted Tudor Chapel, fully adorned with the sights, scents and sounds of a festive Tudor mass. When you’re ready and finished exploring at the Ightham Mote, hop back on your ebike and continue your journey back down the hill for a little tipple in one of our recommended pubs.
