What can I expect?
Cycle across the magical Ashdown Forest once home to A.A Milne, writer of the adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh. This magical forest inspired some of the world’s best loved children’s stories and is an ancient area of open heathland occupying the highest sandy ridge-top of the High Weald Area just 30 miles (48 km) south of London in the county of East Sussex.
Explore the hills and winding roads on our pedal assisted e-bikes to the quaint village of Hartfield, a cosy little hamlet with two pubs one church and the famous Pooh Corner. Built in 1703 and historically a bakery and sweet shop. A.A. Milne himself would visit on a regular basis, as mentioned in his 1974 autobiography. It wasn’t until 1978 that Mike Ridley – a potter who manufactured Winnie the Pooh ceramics under licence from Disney – founded the popular place, Pooh Corner. It is here you can pick up everything from Winnie-the-Pooh lunchboxes to stuffed-animals of Eeyore to little pots of local honey, Pooh’s favourite snack.
Visit Pooh bridge and the famous 100 acre wood before venturing along the off-road cycling route to the neighbouring village of Forest Row. With miles of battery power you will be sure to cover enough ground without breaking a sweat.
This route allows time to stop and enjoy lunch at one of our recommended eateries. With the option to view via an app or a printable map, our routes have been designed to ensure you can’t go wrong. With helpful photos and pin-pointed areas of interest you will be sure to confidently explore on this self-guided ebike tour with no pre-existing knowledge of the area.

Some of our most popular tours take in famous landmarks such as the once home of Winston Churchill, 13th Century Hever Castle home of Ann Boleyn and award-winning vineyards and breweries. Some of our bikes are fitted with panniers, so if you succumb to temptation in the local shop, you can pedal your wares back.
